The Young Wireless Operator—Afloat is the fifth book in The Wireless Patrol series written from 1914 to 1926 by Lewis E. Theiss (1878-1963). They were published by W.A. Wilde Company of Boston and Chicago. In this story from 1920 the author tells the story of Roy Mercer, wireless operator on a Merchant Marine ship, and his adventures on the high seas. In addition to writing the Wireless Patrol series, Lewis Edwin Theiss wrote another series of young adult stories about the early days of aviation.
