These two early novellas by Mary Roberts Rinehart mix mystery and the occult. The original copyrights are 1916 (Sight Unseen) and 1917 (The Confession) and this compilation into a single book is copyright 1921. In Sight Unseen Rinehart speaks in first person through Horace, a member of the Neighborhood Club. They find the medium they invite for a seance connects them with a murder in a mix of mystery and the occult. In The Confession Miss Agnes and her maid rent a summer home that turns ghostly and mysterious in this gothic suspense tale.
