Electrical Experimenter (03:07) November 1915

Hugo Gernsback, editor

"Recently Mr. Tryon has discovered that his French poodle has a remarkable faculty for reading his thoughts. Not being a student of mental telepathy, Mr. Tryon is at a loss to explain it, but on many occasions he has concentrated his thoughts on a certain number and, fixing his gaze on Hector, has silently commanded him to "count" that number. And Hector has invariably approached his tapping bell and counted the number correctly."
This is the November 1915 issue of Electrical Experimenter. The cover story is “The Radium Destroyer.” Among the many other articles is an installment of Hugo Gernsback’s Baron Munchhausen ‘scientific’ fiction series entitled “Munchhausen lands on Mars” and the story of a mind-reading dog.
